Model Trains?

I have a scale or design. I have a MTH Train engine that is stuck. the motor turns but the engine will not go forward or backward. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know. the train is a MTH Dash-8 diesel engine – 3 Train Horn. 560Operates Booth No. O-31 Digital Electronic Horn, both engines w / fly wheel DCRU "electronic reverse Unity and directional headlights. Its headlights and interior lights will go but the train not moving. It will not move in another section of the road, while other trains will run on the track. There are no foreign objects in the gears anywhere. If you need more information, let me know. Http: / / www.mth-railking.com/detail.asp?item=30-2004

Sounds like you have a blockage somewhere in the mechanism. Remove Carefully body. There must be a screw or screws holding the mechanism. Then check to see if any lint or other foreign bodies have entered into gear. Model Trains are prone to this type of problem. Make sure all electrical contacts are clean, such as engine manifold (the part that comes in contact with the brushes) and pads that draw current from the track. Lubricate motor shaft and gears and shafts very sparingly with a light oil such as 3-in-1 or similar. If it says on the tin should for sewing machines and electric light fixtures, then it is okay for your model. All you need is a drop in the tip of a pin and then wipe off excess with a cotton swab cotton. Refit the model and make sure the track is clean – a soft, spongy pad-soaked in methylated spirits or track no special cleaning fluids as sold in stores is the best model – in any case use the abrasive. If the model does not work after this little TLC I suggest you contact the manufacturer and their advice.
