Track layout Ideas for your model Train

For the Model Train enthusiast, purchasing the rolling stock is only the beginning of what will be an extensive and possibly life changing project – maybe very costly, time consuming indeed, but thoroughly enjoyable.

Most of establishing a Model Railroad project is the design and implementation of the design – the diorama with scenery, structures and track appropriate scale for the operation of Trains.

The size Design can design, build and operate depends on the amount of space you have to configure it. Some styles may be very small – the designs top shelf that can be accommodated in a very small space. Others can fill part of a room, or even a whole room or basement.

To design small, simple, a table will usually be sufficient, but most model railroaders in order to create stronger, designs permanent. These usually require proper construction of banks, often attached to the walls of the room to provide a high degree of stability.

An important aspect of any model train setup is the arrangement of the track itself. There are at least four basic layout patterns for setting the track, and countless changes in the configuration and placement of monitoring the following stations.

Four of the most common basic patterns are:

* Point to point – this is just a straight line of the track with a station at each end, with trains going to the station at one end the other station;

* Loop – in its simplest form this is a circle or an oval and the trains move around it continuously, but could be modified into a 'DogBone "form by pulling two opposite sides of the circle or oval together, giving a double track in the center with a smaller circular form at each end;

* Round Trip – where the train leaves the station only, travels around a pear-shaped design and comes back to the original station;

* Metro Stationonly a single station is surrounded by a series of short, interconnected tracks, providing great opportunities for maneuvers.

From these four basic patterns, there are countless variations. Some possibilities are:

* Combination two or more of the four basic patterns, for example, adding a "return" in one or both ends of a point to point 'of design

* The addition of two-way to any of the first three basic designs to enable two or more trains to operate at the same time;

* The addition of secondary lines, allowing an increase in the number of stations;

* The organization of a continuous loop as a figure-eight, to raise a clue to the other instead of crossing at the same level;

* The use of multiple levels, allowing more use of track, and more activity in small areas;

* Adding station yards, with adequate standing tracks, any of the settings.

The number of possible variations to incorporate into your track layout is limited only by the space you have available, your time [and] patience and, of course, size of your wallet.

Vol. 6-Hotel Costes

$19.98

Stéphane Pompougnac’s Hôtel Costes series gets a boost on its sixth installment, mixing in a bit more grit with the pretty ambience and silky beats. Actually, “grit” isn’t quite accurate; Pompougnac’s musical choices still lean heavily toward the cool, classy lounge of Jean-Louis Costes’ famous Parisian hotel/club. But bits of urban groove and subdued jungle rhythms are present as well. Tosca’s …
