What are the best sets of Train?

What is the best thats out train leaves? I want a train that is ideal for any occasion as for use and Christmas (around the tree) or design. less than $ 1,000 that I love Lionel Trains, the name most modern, Train Sets of values Lionel prefer but you can also appoint other (please separate Lionel and other brands), thanks. I want an O gauge train, is also the Polar Express, and model Berkshire good? I want something that is well built, metal frame, good quality

can take the subway for a few sets ho scale 70-150 dollers in hobby shop. Ho is the most common range. but is a bit small and takes time to create.
