Model Train Kits

What is closer to HO scale, 1/90th or 1/72th?
I would add some models of aircraft available to my Train HO scale I build myself. I have found no aircraft are in kit form that are in HO scale (not ready-made miniatures). I have found several Planning 1/90th and 1/72th scale in kit form. Since HO 1/87th scale is, does anyone have experience to which of these two scales would be more appropriate to use ?…. that I can make modifications if necessary. Thanks! I was able to find a Southwest Pacific Revell DC-3 kit 1/90th….this model may be very close!
To answer your question, 1 / 90 would be much closer to HO scale 1 / 87 to 1 / 72. I'm not familiar with aircraft 1 / 90 scale, but I've seen a few in 1 / 100 scale. I've seen quite a few passenger planes in this scale. This is small for the HO scale but used them as models back ground would be fine. You could use a method called forced perspective. If there was a river or stream between Trains and planes HO then tricked the eye into believing that the aircraft small scale were actually more distance. You could do the same but unlike larger scale planes, put forward and trains in the back ground. As someone mentioned 1/96th scale. It is a popular building scale. It is 10% smaller than HO but the size of the models usually compensates the difference, as long as the two scales are not displayed side by side. Good luck and I hope this helps.
