Lionel Trains

The liquid smoke for postwar Lionel Trains?
Okay, everyone knows how to put the little pill on the Train to make the smoke. Well, I have three postwar Lionel steam (671 Turbine, 2056 and late 2026 Hudson meadow if it helps), and I wondered if I could use Lionel smoke fluid in them. It takes a lot time for the tablets to melt, and the next time you run the train, you have to wait for the smoke element to heat before it begins to smoke. Therefore, You can use the liquid smoke in postwar Lionel trains? And we have faster results if you can?
Yes, you can use liquid smoke (Lionel or any other popular brands). Do not use more than 2-3 drops at a time, as the smoke of the war units do not really have a mechanism to retain fluid. More than 2-3 drops, and eventually loss of fluid across the track. I'm curious as to your comment about the pills to take a long time to melt. In my experience, usually takes about 20-30 seconds for a new ball to melt. Once melted, it only takes a few seconds to start work on every subsequent power above. After 50 + years of use, pellets tend to get into places they should not, and impair performance. I have a strong suspicion that this is what you get wrong with it. It's pretty easy to do yourself (feel free to send me an e-mail for details) or Lionel service station must be able to take care of it economically. Whatever you do, do not let a service station speaks to liquid conversion, though, are not as durable as pellet units age or work well. They are also useless, as you can use liquid smoke pellets in a unit without damage anyway.
