What about airlines shit? why can not they follow the Southwest model?

For the love of God, I booked a ticket with America West / US Airways, who later wanted to change my flight, but I want to charge $ 100. It stinks from the rate i paid was just $ 120 (short flight). With Southwest, you will not get a refund, but they will pay the amount you paid before, but without penalty, at least it has been my recent experience. A group of airlines keep complaining and losing money and cutting jobs … why can not they follow the Southwest model to stay afloat? Southwest uses only one type of aircraft (Which saves a ton of pilot training and mechanical training, and discounts from Boeing), fly smart routes, etc etc. Why not Delta and American and America West learn?

Answer: Unions. The unions have ruined one of the best companies in the U.S. (GM, Airlines) The carrier must try to get everything possible out of you because you are basically forced to pay much higher rate and not allowed to delete jobs that are no longer needed. They actually pay people to do nothing! Have you ever flown with a non-us based airlines? Do it if you can – hopefully a better service, nicer aircraft and often a polite and pleasant to the eye flight attendant instead of the grumpy fat 50 with bad breath you throw peanuts to the airline meets U.S.!
